Tra caligini profonde, Zoroastro's aria from Orlando

Tra caligini profonde Our mind always wanders
erra ognor la nostra mente, amid thick fogs,
s'ha per guida un cieco nume. as if a blind god guides it.
Di rovina sulle sponde The mind runs the risk of breaking
					upon the rocks
é in pericolo imminente and ruining itself
se ragion non le dà il lume. if reason doesn't enlighten it.
