This is a list of waterfalls in West Virginia that I know about but have not visited personally. Every waterfall in this list includes as much information as I know. Cathedral Falls, 60 feet, tributary of the New River, roadside park in Gauley Bridge. Submitted by Aaron McCune
Falls of the Cheat, 20 feet, 8 m. round trip, Shavers Fork, Monongahela National Forest, very wide horseshoe shaped falls with a nice deep pool at the bottom, take railroad tracks upstream from Bemis about 4 miles (crossing river once) or use Shavers Mountain Trail south of Glady. Directions : from US-33 at Alpina, go south to Glady and then west to Bemis. Park in Bemis and find railroad tracks and head upstream. Submitted by Edward Evangelidi
Sandstone Falls, New River, New River Gorge National River, 9 miles N of Hinton, 25 feet. Waterfall is 1500 feet wide. There is a boardwalk that leads you to several different views of the falls. Also, there are trails from the boardwalk that all you to venture out and see the falls up close. Directions : From Interstate 64, take WV Route 20 South to the town of Hinton. After crossing the New River, there is a sign saying to turn right towards Sandstone Falls. Travel 9 miles on this road. There is parking on the right. Submitted by Joe Stickles
