Dalle stanze ove Lucia
tratta avea col suo consorte,
un lamento, un grido uscia,
come d'uom vicino a morte!
Corsi ratto in quelle mura:
Ah! Terribile sciagura!
Steso Arturo al suol gioaceva
muto, freddo, imnsanguinato!
E Lucia l'acciar stringeva
che fu già del trucidato!....
Ella in me le luci affisse...
"Il mio sposo ov'é?" - mi disse.
E nel volto suo pallente
un sorriso balenò!
Infelice! Della mente
la virtude a lei mamcò.
