Il capro e la capretta, Marcellina's aria from Le Nozze di Figaro

Il capro e la capretta The billy-goat and the she-goat
son sempre in amistà, Are always friends,
l'agnello all'agnelletta	The male lamb and the female lamb
la guerra mai non fa. Never make war on each other.
Le più feroci belve The most ferocious wild animal
per selve e per campagne	in the woods and in the country
lascian le lor compagne Leaves their companions
in pace e libertà. in peace and freedom.
Sol noi povere femmine Only we poor women
che tanto amiam questi uomini,	That love so much these men,
trattate siam dai perfidi	Must deal always with cruelty from the
	ognor con crudeltà! treacherous ones!
