Synopsis: The Bey of Algiers tells Taddeo that he will make him the Grand Kaimakan of Algiers. Taddeo says that the role of Kaimakan does not quite fit him. When the Bey becomes angry, Taddeo tries to reassure him saying that he would rather be Kaimakan than dead.
