Synopsis: Edgar has revealed that he is not, in fact, dead as previously stated in the opera. He is alive and has witnessed his former lover Tigrana telling lies about him at his funeral for money. He denounces her as a filthy leper and turns to his true love Fidelia saying that the illusions that had surrounded him before have now gone away.
