De' più superbi il core, Cinna's aria from Lucio Silla

De' più superbi il core (When angry Jove shoots forth his lightnings,
Se Giove irato fulmina, Cold fear grips
Freddo spavento ingombra,	The hearts of the rash,)
Ma d'un alloro all'ombra	But in the laurel's shade
Nan palpita il pastor. No fear plagues the shepherd.
Paventino i tiranni Tyrants do well to fear
Le stragi, e le ritorte,	Devastation and chains,
Sol rida in faccia a morte	In face of death only he can smile
Chi ha senza colpe il cor.	Who is innocent of heart.
