Parto, m'affretto, Giunia's aria from Lucio Silla

Parto, m'affretto. Ma nel partire	I go, I hasten. But thus
Il cor si apezza. Mi manca l'anima,	Breaks my heart. My soul departs,
Morir mi sento. I feel the approach of death.
Né so morire, And yet I cannot die,
I pine and shudder. I weep, and suffer.	E smanio, e gelo. E piango, e peno.
Ah se potessi, potessi almeno (Alas, could I but die
Fra tanti spasimi, morir così. Of grief so great!)

Ma per maggior mio duolo (But to increase my torment
Verso un' amante appressa Death itself today scorns
Divien la morte istessa A loving soul bowed down with care.)
Pietosa in questo dì.
