Synopsis: King Dodon and his ministers are discussing the best methods to protect the kingdom from possible invasions. The Astrologer appears and declares that he has a solution to he problem. He presents the king with a magic golden cockerel that will crow any time the kingdom is threatened. The Astrologer notes that having this cockerel will calm the King's nerves because he will not always have to be on guard against invaders.
