Did I forget to add your favorite opera? Do you get that warm fuzzy feeling by helping people out? Did I really screw something up badly? Help me make this web page better by doing some of the "dirty" work.
Here are some of the things you could do to help :
- If you know an opera fairly well (or even if you don't but are willing to do some research on it), then you can go through that opera and pick out every aria. From there, I need a few things for every aria : the character that sings it and their voice part, the setting in the opera at the time of the aria, the act (and scene if there is one) that the aria is in, and a short description of what the opera is about and how it fits into the opera. Beyond that, you can also add the range, commentary, discography or anything else you want. Please also give me the name of the opera, the composer, the librettist, the time period it takes place in, and the characters in the opera and their voice part. Submit the information by e-mail. If you cannot do some of this but still would like to help, please just send as much as possible. I can fill in the rest.
- If you have translated an aria into english and would be willing to let me use your translation, please submit that via e-mail.
- If you have sequenced an aria via MIDI and you are willing to let me use your file, please e-mail me to discuss how to go about getting the file to me.
- Finally if you are a singer and you have sung and recorded an aria privately and would be willing to let me use the recording, please e-mail me to get information about how to go about submitting it via snail mail and a cassette tape. This is a great way for singers to get themselves heard.
In every case, please tell me how you would like to be registered. For most things, I will only include your name, your e-mail address, and a link to your home page if you have one. If you submit a recording though, I will put a short biography of you on my page as well.
Thank you in advance for all your help!
