Synopsis: In order to save his soul, Tom has played a game of cards with Nick Shadow, who is actually the Devil. Tom wins the game, but, as Nick sinks into a grave, he condemns Tom to madness. Anne finds Tom in Bedlam where he recognizes her only as the goddess of Love, Venus. Anne rocks Tom to sleep while singing a lullaby.
